
Basil Aioli

Ingredients
- ½ cup fresh basil leaves packed (or 2-3 tbsp basil paste)
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 cup mayonnaise store-bought or homemade
- 1 tbs lemon juice freshly squeezed
- ¼ tsp Dijon mustard optional, for extra depth
- ¼ tsp salt or to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 1-2 tsp olive oil optional, for a silkier texture
Instructions
- In a blender or food processor, combine the basil leaves, minced garlic, mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard (if using), and salt.
- Blend until smooth.
- If the aioli is too thick, drizzle in 1-2 teaspoons of olive oil while blending to achieve a silkier texture.
- Taste the aioli and adjust the seasoning with additional salt, pepper, or lemon juice as needed.
- Transfer the aioli to a small bowl, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, to allow the flavours to meld.
- Serve when ready & enjoy

- Refrigeration: Store the basil aioli in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will stay fresh for up to 3-4 days.
- Basil Paste: If you don’t have fresh basil, you can substitute with basil paste for a quicker option.
