Notes
Storage:
- Crostini: If you have leftover crostini, store them separately in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. They’ll stay crispy and fresh.
- Topping: It’s best to store the pear and blue cheese topping in the refrigerator, but assemble the crostini just before serving to maintain the crispness of the bread.
- You can prepare the crostini ahead of time by toasting the bread and storing it in an airtight container.
- For a different twist, try using a variety of blue cheeses, such as Gorgonzola or Roquefort, for slightly different flavor profiles.
- You can add a sprinkle of fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary for an added aromatic touch.
- Swap honey for balsamic glaze if you prefer a tangy-sweet contrast.
- Add a sprinkle of chopped walnuts for a crunchy texture and extra depth of flavour.
- These crostini make an excellent appetizer for dinner parties, wine tastings, or holiday gatherings.
- They pair wonderfully with a crisp white wine or a light, fruity red.
