Instructions

- Season the fresh steak with salt, pepper and spices.
- Cook in a hot skillet over medium-high heat until browned and cooked to your desired doneness (about 3-5 minutes for medium-rare).
- Remove the steak from the skillet, let it rest 3-5 min, and then slice thinly against the grain.
- In the same skillet, sauté the sliced bell pepper onion and garlic over medium heat until softened and slightly caramelized (about 5-7 minutes). Set aside.
- Slice each croissant in half horizontally.
- On the bottom half of each croissant, layer a small pile of sliced steak, sautéed bell pepper and onion, and 1 tbs of diced banana peppers (if using).
- Top with a slice of cheese, folding it slightly to fit.
- Close the croissants and brush the tops with melted garlic butter for extra flavor.(optional)
- Place the filled croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the croissants are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let the croissants cool slightly before serving.
- Pair them with ranch, buffalo ranch, hot sauce, or au jus for dipping.
Notes
- Best Steak Option: Ribeye is the classic choice for its tenderness and flavour, but sirloin or flank steak are excellent alternatives for a leaner option.
- Cheese Choices: Provolone is a traditional pick for Philly cheesesteaks, but Monterey Jack, Swiss, or even cheddar can work.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
- Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 5-8 minutes to maintain crispness.
