- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- ½ tsp ground cumin
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine all the ingredients.
- Adjust the spices to your liking, adding more cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, or pepper as desired.
- Place the sauce in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Serve the yogurt sauce chilled with your favorite dishes as a delicious and refreshing accompaniment.
Notes
- Make-Ahead: You can prepare the yogurt mint sauce a day or two in advance. The flavors will meld together, making it even tastier.
- Adjustments: You can substitute fresh mint with dried mint if fresh isn’t available, though fresh is preferable for the best flavour.
- This sauce pairs wonderfully with grilled meats like lamb, chicken, or beef.
- It’s also great as a dip for vegetables, pita, or as a topping for falafel.
- Store the yogurt mint sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- Keep it in the coldest part of the fridge to maintain its freshness and flavour.
