Sheet Pan Lemon Garlic Salmon with Asparagus
This sheet-pan lemon garlic salmon is one of those go-to “throw it on a pan and call it dinner” meals. Salmon, buttery garlic, a touch of hot sauce, and crisp-tender asparagus all roast together on one tray, so cleanup isa breeze. The salmon stays juicy, the asparagus cooks just right, and the little drizzle of lemon-hot sauce adds a bright, tangy kick that keeps everyone reaching for seconds. Easy enough for a weeknight, but still feels a little special.
Equipment
- Sheet Pan
- Parchment Paper
Ingredients
- 1 lb 450 g salmon fillets, divided
- 1 ½ tbsp fresh lemon juice adjust to taste
- 1 tbsp hot sauce like Sriracha, optional
- 4 tsp minced garlic about 4 cloves
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 3-4 tbsp butter or ghee diced into small cubes
- 1-2 tsp extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 tbsp parsley or cilantro freshly chopped
- 1 lb medium-thick asparagus woody ends trimmed
- Zest of ½ lemon, smoked paprika, or capers Optional for extra flavour
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375ºF (190ºC).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Optional: Combine lemon juice and hot sauce in a small bowl.
- Place salmon fillets on the sheet pan and arrange asparagus around the salmon, keeping even spacing.
- Drizzle 1–2 tsp of olive oil over the salmon and asparagus, then sprinkle minced garlic, salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings on top.
- Dot the butter cubes on top of each fillet to help them baste while baking.
- Drizzle the lemon-hot sauce mixture evenly over everything (if using).
- Roast in the oven until salmon flakes easily with a fork and asparagus is tender, about 18–22 minutes for medium-thick fillets. For perfectly cooked salmon, it should reach 125–130ºF (52–54ºC) internally. – Thicker asparagus stalks may need an extra minute, while thinner ones cook faster.
- Let the salmon rest 2–3 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with parsley or cilantro and a little extra lemon juice.
- Serve & enjoy!
Notes
- For a golden, slightly crisp top, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end. Watch carefully to avoid burning.
- Adjust hot sauce to taste for mild or extra heat.
- Optional add-ins like lemon zest, smoked paprika, or capers give a little extra punch.
