Notes
Choosing the Right Brie: Opt for a high-quality, creamy Brie with a smooth texture for the best results. A softer, slightly ripe Brie will melt beautifully.
Fresh Black Truffles: If you’re using fresh truffles, make sure to finely shave or grate them to maximize flavour distribution. Use sparingly as truffles have a strong, earthy flavour.
Truffle Oil or Truffle Salt: If fresh truffles are unavailable, truffle oil or truffle salt can be used as an alternative. Drizzle the oil or sprinkle the salt over the Brie just before baking to infuse the flavour.
Serving Suggestions: Serve with crusty baguette slices, crackers, or fresh fruit (like pears or apples). The contrast of textures enhances the overall experience.
Wine Pairing: A light white wine, such as Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc, pairs well with the rich, creamy Brie and the earthy truffles. Alternatively, a sparkling wine or Champagne can add a refreshing contrast.
Make-Ahead Tip: You can prepare the Brie with truffles up to an hour ahead of time. Simply assemble it and refrigerate it until you’re ready to bake. Just allow it to come to room temperature before baking to ensure even melting.
