This smoothie is a household favourite, which means it’s been made a lot in our kitchen and honestly, I get why. It’s creamy, cozy, and just sweet enough to feel like a treat without going overboard. Frozen banana gives it that creamy base, peanut butter brings that comforting flavour, and ground chia quietly makes it more filling. Toss everything in the blender and in just a couple minutes, you’ve got a smooth, satisfying drink that works just as well for breakfast as it does for a quick snack.
Add the banana, peanut butter, ground chia, milk, maple syrup, and ice cubes to a blender.
Blend on high until completely smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides if needed.
Serve immediately. *If storing, refrigerate leftovers and stir or re-blend before drinking, as the chia will thicken over time.
Notes
Easy to double or triple: Just multiply all ingredients and use a large enough blender.
Ground chia thickens faster than whole seeds, which is why the amount is slightly reduced.
For a thinner smoothie, add an extra splash of milk.
For a thicker, spoonable texture, let the smoothie sit for 2–3 minutes before serving.
A tiny pinch of salt makes the peanut butter flavor pop (optional).
Leftovers: Store in a covered container in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Stir or quickly re-blend before drinking, as the chia will continue to thicken the smoothie.
