Vietnamese Dipping Sauce
What is Vietnamese dipping sauce (nước chấm)?

A traditional Vietnamese dipping sauce made with fish sauce, lime juice, sugar, and water, balancing salty, sweet, sour, and savoury flavours.

Can I make it ahead of time?

Yes. It keeps well in the fridge and the flavor actually deepens a little after sitting.

Is it spicy?

Only if you add chiles. The base sauce is mild and balanced.

Can I skip garlic or chili?

Yes, it still works as a clean, bright dipping sauce without them.

What do you serve it with?

Spring rolls, grilled meats, vermicelli bowls, rice dishes, dumplings, and more.
